FIELD TRIP PROGRAMS WE OFFER
Barr Lake State Park staff and volunteers lead field trips Wednesday-Friday mornings.
Field trips are subject to seasonal availability as well as daily weather conditions.
Naturalist-to-student ratios depend on staff/volunteer availability.
One adult chaperone for every ten children is required.



The Circle of Life

The Circle of Life
Description: Students study the life cycle of plants and animals and how seeds travel through observation and interactive activities. The program includes a habitat hike as well as time in the Nature Center.
Life in a Tree

First People and Place
Standards: Social Studies (History)
Grade Level: 4th and 5th
Length: 2.5 hours
Description: Students explore the Indigenous people and animals that dominated the landscape of the Front Range from 1,000,000 until the recent past through primary source documents as well as interactive activities. This program includes time in the Nature Center, a study in the replica Arapaho/Cheyenne tipi as well as a hike on the Niedrach Trail.
